Progress Update

Slab on metal decks have been completed for sequence 1. It took a total of 5 concrete pours to finish! Concrete will soon be pouring for sequence 1 slab on grade, level 1 and the basement. Structural steel framing is still ongoing. Pitched roof steel for sequence 3A remains as well as levels 2, 3, 4 for sequence 3B. Exterior wall framing has begun on sequence 1, plan on seeing metal studs on the south side of the building very soon!

Quality Corner

Cast stone Factory Visit: Cast stone masonry is a significant product in the appearance of most of the buildings on UND campus. The light colored stone set around windows and column caps come to site in pre-specified sizes that are difficult to alter. Thus it is important to ensure fabrication of stone is to the highest quality. PCL/CC will visit the cast stone fabricator at their plant and review procedures to ensure the quality of the stone.

Did You Know?

Maximum variation of floor flatness for concrete slabs on this project is 1/4 inch in 10 feet! When finishing concrete it is crucial to ensure there isn’t any low/ high spots in the surface.
