Pitched roof steel is now complete which means structural steel framing for the main structure is finished. Only the skyway steel framing remains. Steel decking on level 4 is about 50% complete. Steel lintels and exterior metal framing is ongoing. Spray applied air barrier will begin shortly on the south side. First phase of pitched roofing system will be begin on sequence 1 and 2. Installation of the south stair tower has begun. Inside the building, Fireproofing is almost completed in sequence 1 and 2 with just the underside of level 2 and high roof remaining. Interior wall framing is progressing on level 3 and will soon begin on level 2. Overhead MEP rough ins have started on levels 2 and 3 sequence 1 and 2. Levels 2 and 3 MEP rough ins for slab on metal deck sequence 3 are progressing.
3D BIM Modeling is being utilized for the project to prevent installation issues between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contractors. Each MEP contractor creates a model of their scope showing where they plan to install duct, conduit, piping, etc. PCL takes each model and combines it into one model to view overall. The key is to look for “clashes” between systems. Basically when systems run into each other or overlap that will not be feasible to build in the field.
