UND Writers Conference is coming up next week!

The UND Writers Conference, being held March 22-24, 2017, is an annual event organized by the faculty, staff, and students of the English Department. Notable authors who have visited UND’s campus for the conference include Gwendolyn Brooks, Sherman Alexie, Alice Walker, Eudora Welty, and Junot Díaz–among many other well-known names in literature.

All Conference events are free and open to the public and events are scheduled throughout the day each day (beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending with an author reading each evening at 8:00 p.m.) Free parking for Conference events will be available on campus in specific lots and areas (marked with signs–check the Conference website for specific lot information).

NoViolet Bulawayo, who is the author of the current Greater Grand Forks Reads book selection (We Need New Names), is one of several featured authors for this year’s Conference. Check out the Greater Grand Forks Reads website for more information about this book selection in addition the GGFR’s culminating event in coordination with the UND Writers Conference: a reading by NoViolet Bulawayo at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23.
