News and notes from UND's Chester Fritz Library

24/7 Chat Service

Working on a group research paper? Need help finding resources? Ask a Librarian on our new 24/7 chat service! We’re excited to announce that we will be rolling out our new 24/7 chat service starting on Monday, March 18! All UND faculty, staff, and students will now have access to anytime chat service with an experienced librarian, even when our librarians are unavailable. This new service increases the hours that you’ll be able to get your questions answered by 420%! According to the Dean of Libraries, Stephanie Walker, this service greatly expands convenient and knowledgeable assistance about our resources and services, especially for UND’s distance programs.

24/7 chat provides around-the-clock reference services to help supplement our hours of service: librarians at participating institutions are available to students, faculty, and staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. If none of our librarians are available, these other participating librarians will respond to your question and be able to help you find your answer by accessing our own resources and databases.

The new service is rolling out seamlessly and you can still access the chat as you always have: by clicking the orange Ask a Librarian button at the bottom of our websites.

In addition to our new 24/7 chat, our Ask a Librarian service is available in person, via online conferencing, or by phone or email. Make an appointment with your subject librarian today!
