College BoUND Newsletter

Informational newsletter from the UND Office of Admissions

Congratulations to you and your student!

One minute you’re playing Chutes and Ladders with your pig-tailed Jane or rough-and-tumble Jim. The next, they somehow land on a ladder and shoot ahead 12 years.

No one knows how it happens so fast, but it always does. And that day is now here for YOU! Congratulations to you and your student on their acceptance to the University of North Dakota — one of the Top 25 Most Innovative Schools in the nation.

It’s a big day and a big deal when your student must choose what college is the right fit for them. You both likely have a lot of questions, and that’s why we’re here.

Today, I’m sharing the first issue of our family newsletter, College BoUND, in hopes you’ll find it useful in the weeks ahead. The monthly newsletter will include important deadlines, next steps in the college process, as well as other tips and updates to help you and your student make the best decisions possible.

And by the way, your student will get their own copy, so they won’t ever miss a thing. For starters, they might want to consider checking out UND’s Honors Program — a program that enhances and nurtures the kind of critical thinking skills that challenge students beyond regular academics. Students can choose one of two different tracks. We’ll talk more about it in our next issue.

As always, the Office of Admissions is here to assist you and your family with any questions you have to help make your student’s transition to college an easy one. We look forward to hearing from you. You can reach us by phone at 701.777.3000 or by email at admissions@UND.edu. Also, if you have any topics you’d like to see covered in future newsletters, feel free to contact me directly at jennifer.aamodt@UND.edu.

Congratulations again on your student’s acceptance to UND! We look forward to seeing them become a leader in action in the class of 2023.
