High achievers get early shot at nursing program

Nurses are in high demand nationwide and so are spots in the University of North Dakota’s competitive nursing program. And now UND is giving high-achieving high school seniors a shot at early admission.

Generally, pre-nursing students cannot apply to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program until after completing three semesters of prerequisite courses. But now the top 20 qualified high school seniors will be selected for a special Direct Admission program.

Students who want to be considered for this unique program must apply for UND admission as a senior and select Nursing as their major on the admission application. They also must:

• Achieve a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Earn a composite ACT score of at least 27 or a combined SAT score of at least 1280 in the previous two years.

The selection process begins in November for the following year. Priority will be given to early applications. Applicants who do not receive Direct Admission are encouraged to apply through the traditional BSN program. Good luck to all!
