Special message from UND presidents

Spring is finally here in the Red River Valley, and we’re excited to be looking ahead to fall. We’re eager to share that the University of North Dakota will be open and operational in the fall, with a comprehensive mix of on-campus and online learning opportunities to support your student’s successful progress toward a UND degree. Our faculty and staff are counting down the days until we can welcome your student to campus.

Even in this unpredictable environment, UND remains singularly focused on providing a top-notch education while also focusing on students’ well-being. We have a long track record for safety, earning “Safe Campus” rankings as the safest campus in North Dakota for the past three years. We’re bringing that same focus to health and safety in our response to COVID-19.

Since early March, the members of our campus community, especially our students, have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic threat as remarkable leaders. The care and compassion we have for each other long has been the hallmark of this University. By effectively and appropriately practicing physical distancing, shifting to remote learning and doing our work from home, we’ve largely avoided the harsh realities that the virus has inflicted on many other organizations in our region and across the country.

Please also know, as your student makes the transition to campus, we are here to support them. Whether they’re seeking support for advising, registration, financial aid, student health, housing or dining, members of the UND staff and faculty are ready and willing to help them get settled on campus. Our goal is to make life easier, allowing them to focus on what’s important: acclimating to campus, learning and contributing to our great sense of community.

While we may look a little different and operate a bit differently — as we manage physical distancing for the well-being of our entire UND community — we promise we will get through this together and emerge even stronger. Please know that your family is in our thoughts. And please continue to stay connected, stay safe and be well. We are one!
