Dear UND Student,
Spring is finally here in the Red River Valley, and we’re excited to be looking ahead to next fall. We are eager to share that the University of North Dakota will be open and operational in the fall, with a comprehensive mix of on-campus and online learning opportunities to facilitate successful progress toward your UND degree. The entire faculty and staff are counting down the days until we can welcome you back to campus.
Even in this unpredictable environment, UND will remain singularly focused on providing a top-notch education to you, while at the same time focusing on your well-being. We have a long track record for safety, earning “Safe Campus” rankings as the safest campus in North Dakota for the past three years and the 12th safest in the nation. We are bringing that same focus on health and safety in our response to COVID-19.
Since early March, all members of our campus community, but especially you — our students, have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic threat as remarkable leaders. The care and compassion you have for each other has long been the hallmark of this University. By effectively and appropriately practicing physical distancing, shifting to remote learning and doing our work from home, we’ve largely avoided the harsh realities that the virus has inflicted on many other organizations in our region and across the country.
Please also know as you make the transition back to campus, we are here to support you. Whether you are seeking support for advising, registration, financial aid, student health, housing or dining, members of the UND staff and faculty are ready and willing to help you get back to campus. Our goal is to make life easier, allowing you to focus on what’s important: returning to campus, focusing on learning and contributing to our great sense of community.
While we may look a little different and operate a bit differently — as we manage physical distancing for the well-being of our entire UND community — we promise that we will get through this together and emerge even stronger. Until we see you in August, please know that you and your family are in our thoughts. And please continue to stay connected, stay safe and be well. We are One!
