The National Weather Service released their March 12 flood outlook, which puts the 50 percent chance of crest for Greater Grand Forks at 48.4 feet. That’s up a bit from the 48.2 outlook released two weeks ago. Flood stage is 28 feet.
In the National Weather Service flood briefing, forecasters said drier weather since mid-January has lowered the flood risk slightly for many areas. However, thawing is expected later than normal, and soils are saturated. Snowpack still remains at or above normal.
The NWS also provided slides of their flood outlook.
