After several days of warm weather, The Red River at East Grand Forks has entered flood stage. As of 6:45 a.m. Thursday, April 2, it stood at at 35.8 feet. Flood stage is 28 feet, and the river is expected to crest at 46.6 feet on Monday, April 6, according to the National Weather Service.
Long-duration major flooding is expected, likely until around April 15. The forecast may change due to increased moisture from a winter storm, as well as possible precipitation next week.
The Sorlie Bridge closed on Wednesday, April 1.
