Robert Steininger to give Surgery Grand Rounds March 8

Robert Steininger, MD, a PGY-III resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Current Recommendations in Surgical Management of Diverticulitis” at Altru Health System in Grand Forks, N.D., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019. All are welcome to attend.

The objectives of his talk are:

  • Explain the proposed pathophysiology of diverticulitis
  • Distinguish complicated from uncomplicated diverticulitis
  • Describe operative interventions for acute complicated diverticulitis
  • Define indications for elective colectomy in diverticular disease
