MLS Chair Brooke Solberg named ASCLS “Voice under 40”

Chair of the SMHS Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Brooke Solberg, Ph.D., MLS(ASCP), has been named a “Voice under 40” by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS).

According to the article on the designation, Solberg specializes in teaching graduate and undergraduate MLS students about hemostasis, hematology, body fluids, communication, professional issues, and laboratory education.

“I love the laboratory profession and want what is best for it,” Solberg told the ASCLS. “It can be disheartening to see some of the major issues we face and feel helpless as a single individual to make a difference. ASCLS gives us hope in that struggle by bringing together numerous passionate and knowledgeable individuals to form a single unified voice and by unequivocally standing up for what is best for the profession.”

ASCLS Voices Under 40 honors ASCLS members who have shown exceptional commitment to the Society, the laboratory profession, and their community at large at a younger age in their professional career. Each month we spotlight one of the shining voices who were selected from many nominations across the country.

Congratulations, Dr. Solberg!
