Golovko paper included in latest APSselect essay collection

Congratulations to Department of Biomedical Sciences Associate Professor and Director of the SMHS Mass Spectrometry Core Mikhail Golovko, Ph.D. A paper he helped produce was included in the Feb. 2020 APSselect, a prestigious essay collection from the American Physiology Society (APS) showcasing some of the best new articles in physiological research. Dr. Golovko’s study, “COX-2 derived prostaglandins as mediators of the deleterious effects of nicotine in chronic kidney disease,” addresses the connection of chronic kidney disease and nicotine exposure.
