David Velez to give Surgery Grand Rounds on crash laparotomy May 15

David Velez, M.D., a PGY-II resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Crash laparotomy” at Sanford Medical Center Broadway, Fargo, N.D., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020. All are welcome to attend.*

The objectives of Dr. Velez’s talk are:

  • Describe the history of laparotomy in trauma
  • Determine the etiology and epidemiology of abdominal trauma
  • Describe the evaluation of abdominal trauma
  • Describe the systematic approach to a crash laparotomy
