Registration open for ‘The Productive Online and Offline Professor’ faculty development book study

Teaching, Learning and Scholarship (TLAS) is announcing its fall book study. The book will be The Productive Online and Offline Professor: A Practical Guide by Bonni Stachowiak (2020). Books will be provided courtesy of the Office of Education & Faculty Affairs and Education Resources.

A recent TLAS faculty development needs assessment survey revealed that productivity and organization are among the universal challenges we all face. Stachowski’s book is a practical guide for faculty who want to improve their organizational skills and reduce the chaos and inefficiency that surrounds college educators so they can focus their energy on teaching and scholarship. Dr. Salentiny will guide discussions around the book’s practical insights and their applications to medical and health care education.

Books are free but seats are limited, so respond right away if you’re interested. Books will be distributed by the end of October, at which time the group will begin reading. The group will meet virtually on Zoom three times:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 22, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Coordinators ask that you commit to attending all three meeting times; everyone’s contributions will be valuable to the discussion!
