Sara Bjerke elected Secretary for the Mid-America Athletic Trainers Association

Assistant Professor and Assistant Athletic Trainer in the SMHS Department of Sports Medicine, Sara Bjerke, M.S., LAT, ATC, was recently elected the new secretary for the Mid-America Athletic Trainers Association, District 5 (MAATA D5). The MAATA is a member organization made up of seven states (North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma) whose mission is “to enhance the professional and leadership abilities of the membership by providing encouragement, mentorship and improvement opportunities in the profession of athletic training.”

Sara officially assumes the office this June.
