Alessandra Spagnolia to give Surgery Grand Rounds talk on surgeon suicide Feb. 19
Alessandra Spagnolia, M.D., a PGY-II resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Surgeon Suicide” at Sanford Medical Center MEC Room 140 in Fargo, N.D., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021. All are welcome to attend.
The objectives of Dr. Spagnolia’s talk are:
- Recall a few physician suicide statistics.
- Identify risk factors for depression and physician suicide.
- Describe difficulties surgeons face in dealing with/managing depression and thoughts of suicide.
- List sources of help and support available to physicians/surgeons.
