Med students collecting clothing items for women through Sept. 15

A group of SMHS medical students across North Dakota has partnered with Heart River Bridges of Hope to raise funds and collect gently used women’s clothing/shoe donations. Funds will be used to purchase and/or contribute to “fresh start” kits for women and youth who are leaving incarceration. Re-entry into the workforce and social sphere can be overwhelming, and your donation of these items helps those in transition get a fresh start in life! Thanks in advance.

Items can be dropped off in-person at the following locations:

  • Grand Forks: UND SMHS – Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Fargo: Urban Plains Shelters – Aug. 26 and Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
  • Bismarck: UND Southwest Campus, CHI, and Sanford Health student lounges anytime (until Sept. 15)
  • Dickinson: contact Kirsten Bokinskie at kirsten.bokinskie@UND.edu

Financial gifts can also be made to the program via this GoFundMe page. Collections end Sept. 15.
