News from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences

Emily Evers

As Emily put it: “I was born and raised in Grand Forks and grew up around UND and specifically UND athletics. My dream since I was young was to go to UND and play basketball. I was able to live out that dream during my time at UND and graduated in 2015 with my degree in Marketing. At the conclusion of my UND career I had the incredible opportunity to live out another dream of playing professional basketball. I was lucky enough to have played in the beautiful Canary Islands of Spain. The majority of my life has been centered around sports and nearly my entire family attended UND. My younger brother graduated from the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences and is now a second-year medical resident. I have always been in awe of the work and dedication I’ve seen in the students not only in the medical program but in all of the health sciences programs. I’m grateful to be back at the SMHS (I was in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies for a time) and I am looking forward to my role in helping students on their path to becoming physicians and other health providers!”

In her role, Emily will facilitate the Career Advising System, develop the School’s Achieve program, and help with SMHS student organizations and interest groups. Her supervisor is Jim Porter, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions.
