It’s easy to feel pessimistic in the midst of our current 24-hour news cycle. But there has been some good news in the last year. If you need an infusion of good cheer, peruse this list of 99 good news stories, which includes a section on global health. Some nuggets of positivity: India registered a 22% decline in maternal deaths since 2013 (#22 on the list); Since 2018, HIV/AIDS infection rates have fallen by 16% in adults and 35% in children (item 25 on the list); and Tanzania has revealed that in the last 10 years, they have reduced their malaria death rate by 50% in adults and 53% in children (#31 on the list).
