New Works Enter the Public Domain

Happy New Year! Have a bunch of copyright-free books, songs, and movies! No, really. For the first time since 1998, copyright law has not been extended for a mass of works created before 1923. At the turn of the year, a huge amount of intellectual property moved into the public domain. You may have to add a couple thousand things to your reading list.
