Facebook Ads Outlawed

Do you worry about how Facebook uses your data or who they sell it to? Did you know that Facebook can track your activity online even when you’re not logged into Facebook? Regardless of how tuned in you are to news surround Facebook’s data social experiments or the development of the GDPR over in Europe, you may want to pay attention to what is going on in Germany right now. Last Thursday, Germany’s Federal Cartel Office ruled that Facebook is exploiting its users. Their argument is based on the fact that as a company owning 80% of the business in their sector, Facebook holds a monopoly, and therefore should be subject to government oversight. Facebook is not going to back down without a fight, but if Facebook loses the appeal they are planning, their data-gathering practices could change across the globe, the United States included.
