The system administrator is responsible for resolving technical problems that cover a multitude of technical disciplines with a focus on maintaining a Windows server environment as well as mainframe operations and providing support as part of the help desk. Additionally, the incumbent must understand and be able to solve a wide array of problems with all types of hardware and software in emergency situations. Flexibility, responsiveness, and decisiveness to changing situations will be required. Commitment to excellence, service-focused, self-motivated, attention to detail and organizational skills are critical components of this position. Communication with all levels of corporate personnel is vital to the success of this position. Position requires a bachelor’s degree in an IT discipline; a minimum of 3-5 years IT experience; policy writing skills; vendor relationship management; using various server platforms; working knowledge of networking protocols. Preferred experience includes: Windows Server setup, configuration, monitoring, and administration; VMWare monitoring and administration; Backup and Recovery strategies; hardware maintenance including servers and SANs. Experience in a financial institution setting is highly desired.Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution; and customer service skills. We are looking for someone who has a strong work ethic and is a team player with the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
