UND Flying Team Captures 2nd place in the Nation
Congratulations to the UND Flying Team and the Aviation Department for capturing 2nd place in the nation among 26 universities from around the country in the annual National Intercollegiate Flying Association SAFECON. Dr. Lindseth had the pleasure of attending the awards banquet yesterday in Columbus, Ohio with our Flying Team, Coach Lewis Liang and Aviation Chair Jim Higgins, and he was very proud of our team’s accomplishments. When your team out performs universities such as Purdue, Embry Riddle-Daytona, Ohio State, Air Force Academy, Western Michigan to name a few, it is impressive. In addition, many of the judges for the competition were UND graduates, so we are very proud of them and it was fun to connect. Next year’s competition will be Terre Haute, Indiana and we have eight of the twelve students on this year’s team returning for next year.
Congratulations to all Flying Team members, Coach Liang and the entire Aviation department for your impeccable record over the past 34 years, placing first or second in 28 of the last 34 years.
