The experiment is part of Dr. Xiaodong Zhang’s ongoing research funded by NASA and NSF to understand how particles affect the light propogation in the ocean. Eric is onboard a research vessel operated by the Institute of Ocean Sciences under Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The cruise sails from Vancouver Island to the Papa station locateds at 50°N, 145°W three times per year, typically in Febuary, June and August.
