All teams will be evaluated with the same judging guidelines. Please refer to your NSBC handbook for the individual criteria.

Grand Prize Winner

The first place team will be able to select one of the following two options:

  1. A fully funded STEM-related field trip of your choice. Some options include (but not limited to): Fargo Air Museum, Ronald Reagan Missile Site, North Dakota Heritage Center and Museum, and the Gateway to Science Center.
  2. A fully funded interactive tour of the Human Space Flight Lab and Aviation Facilities at the University of North Dakota. This includes visiting the space suits, experimenting with the Oculus Rift (virtual reality headset), operating the spacecraft simulators, seeing the Interplanetary Rover and Habitat, and the UND Observatory.

2016 Additional Prize (2016 NSBC only):

One guaranteed spot (weather dependent) on the NDSGC’s Solar Eclipse Flight. NDSGC’s balloon team will bring the first-place teams’ payload (no students) with them to Idaho, flying it on the 2000-gram balloon to experience the total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017.
