FARGO, N.D. – As part of Fargo Navy Week, the Department of the Navy’s Office of Small Business Programs will conduct a free workshop to educate small businesses on how to do business with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. “Doing Business with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps” will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021, from 1 pm – 4 pm at the Dakota Medical Foundation, 4141 28th Avenue South, Fargo, ND. To register, visit https://ndptac.ecenterdirect.com/events/250 or contact Cathy Lindquist, North Dakota Procurement Technical Assistance Center, at 701-261-0737 or cathy.lindquist@und.edu.

There are already several North Dakota small businesses under contract with the Department of the Navy in the industries of information technology, aircraft and rocket component supply and manufacturing, commercial building construction, and engineering research and development. This workshop will cover how to find upcoming contracting opportunities and how North Dakota small businesses can win contracts.

The Office of Small Business Programs for the Department of the Navy, in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the North Dakota Procurement Technical Assistance Center (ND PTAC), will be conducting the workshop as a part of Fargo Navy Week July 19 – 25.

About the PTAC Program: The Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) was authorized by Congress in 1985 in an effort to expand the number of businesses capable of participating in the government marketplace. Administered by the Department of Defense’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the program provides matching funds through cooperative agreements with state and local governments and non-profit organizations to operate Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) for the purpose of providing procurement assistance to all businesses – particularly small businesses – interested in participating in the government marketplace. Learn more at http://www.aptac-us.org.

This procurement technical assistance center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency. The ND PTAC is also supported by the ND Dept. of Commerce.

About the Center for Business Engagement & Development: The ND PTAC program is hosted by the University of North Dakota with leadership provided through the Center for Business Engagement & Development, a part of the Nistler College of Business & Public Administration. The Center serves as UND’s business outreach hub and also oversees the ND Small Business Development Centers and the Veterans Business Outreach Center.
