UND’s Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) initiative marks a major milestone this week with the grand opening of One-Stop Student Services (One-Stop) Oct. 7 in the Memorial Union.

The University’s SEM efforts support the vital goal of retaining students and helping them graduate on time.  In 2013, the Division of Student Affairs and the Division of Academic Affairs formed a Strategic Enrollment Management Committee, charged with helping to find ways of better serving students while maintaining high institutional standards for quality of instruction.  Establishing One-Stop was an early priority of the group.

Enhancing Student Success

One-Stop Student Services is a collaborative effort including the Divisions of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Finance and Operations, who have provided funding for this initiative through a reallocation of existing resources.

The arrival of One-Stop Student Services will enhance UND’s ability to better serve students through creating a physical and virtual space with a single point of student contact for all their most important issues—academic records, registration, financial aid, parking and student accounts.

UND will celebrate the official arrival of One-Stop on October 7 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:30 p.m. at One-Stop’s new office on the main floor of the Union, where the University Federal Credit Union was formerly located.  An open house reception will follow.

The opening of One-Stop marks the addition of a major new service for UND students.  One-Stop will be the most convenient way for students to get answers about their academic and financial status. Among other things, students will be able to register for classes, review grades, accept financial aid awards, pay bills, and more — all at one convenient location.

Dr. Lori Reesor, Vice President for Student Affairs, noted “National research and the experiences of many universities tell us that there is a strong link between student satisfaction and student retention.  One way we can enhance our students’ experience is by more effectively addressing and resolving issues that are important to them—thereby clearing the way for them to focus on being successful.”

Added Provost and Vice President for Academic affairs Dr. Tom DiLorenzo,  “One-Stop represents a truly collaborative effort across Divisions to provide exceptional service, enhance our students’ experience and help them to achieve their goals—and that’s a priority we all share.”

One-Stop will be staffed by professionals who are cross-trained to help students resolve issues related to academic records, registration, financial aid, parking and student accounts. Hours of operation for One-Stop will be 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Inquiries made during the evenings and weekends by telephone or online will be addressed promptly during the next business day.  One-Stop can be reached at 701.777.1234, or visit the webpage at http://und.edu/one-stop/.
