Celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday April 23: You only turn 452 once
Party like it’s 1564!
The Fire Hall Theatre is hosting a birthday party for the Bard, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be activities for all ages:
- 10-11:30 a.m., Shakes-puppet — bring a spare sock or mitten and create Puck or Ariel
- 11:30 a.m., Sing “Happy Birthday Dear Bill” and enjoy cake
- *noon, Sonnet Slam – Show us how you recite William Shakespeare’s sonnets and maybe you will win a prize
- *1 p.m., Original Sonnet – Write and read a sonnet of your own
- *2 p.m., Monologue Madness — fancy yourself a little Lady Macbeth? How about Hamlet? Perform a monologue and compete for cool prizes
- 3 p.m., Strut your Renaissance attire and win a prize for your costume
- Free “Will” donation
