Please join us for an open house on Thursday, June 30 from 10 a.m. – noon at the Center for Community Engagement (317 Cambridge Street) to celebrate Lana Rakow upon her retirement from UND. Lana has served as Director of the Center for Community Engagement and as a Professor of Communication.
She will be retiring from UND to continue many research and writing projects, including finishing her fifth book, presenting her work in Japan, Minneapolis and Kenya, and participating in visiting and consulting opportunities. Lana will also be an associate editor of Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly.
Lana is the founder of the Center for Community Engagement and has served as its Director since 2004. Most noteworthy during those years was the achievement of the university’s Carnegie Foundation Community Engagement designation, the Community Connect project, and the annual Stone Soup Awards Program.
