UND Night at Target Field puts incoming President Kennedy on the mound July 1

Let’s see – what’s the first official day on the job like for a new president of a flagship University?

For incoming Mark Kennedy, his first day will involve playing baseball in front of thousands of Minnesota Twins fans in Minneapolis as part of UND Night at Target Field.

UND_night_1Kennedy will wing the ceremonial opening pitch for the Twins game against the Texas Rangers on Friday, July 1. The special day with the Twins at Target Field will coincide with his first day on the job as president, taking over from interim President Ed Schafer.

The game’s first pitch is set for 7:10 p.m., and special ticket packages, including an exclusive UND Twins baseball cap, are still available. Caps are limited to 1,000, and tickets are issued on a first come, first serve basis.

Also on tap for the night’s tribute to UND:

  • Get your fan photo taken with UND’s newest NCAA championship trophy at the Digital Clubhouse.
  • UND’s Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets will raise the Twins Territory flag as the players take the field.
  • Pick up some fun UND gear at UND’s booth outside Gate 6 (Target Station).

While at the game, remember to use #myUND and #MNTwins with your favorite game pix.
