Oct. 13-15 and 20-22: Love and physics collide in ‘Constellations’

After a record-breaking season opener, the Empire Theatre Company continues its fifth season with the multidimensional play, Constellations, opening at the Empire Arts Center Oct. 13.

Constellations tells the tale of Marianne (a physicist) and Roland (a beekeeper). They hit it off at a party…or perhaps they don’t. One of them is married…or maybe they’re both single. Nick Payne’s Constellations takes this chance encounter between two lost souls and opens the door to the infinite possibilities of their relationship. Breathlessly navigating through the spellbinding and romantic journey of being in love, Constellations looks at how the tiniest change in the details of our lives can lead us on completely different paths.

“This unique production will bring an especially unusual experience for audiences because they will be seated on the stage for an intimate experience,” says Executive Director Emily Montgomery.

Constellations will run Oct. 13-15 and 20-22 with all performances at 7:30 p.m. at the Empire Arts Center. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for students/military. Tickets can be purchased weekdays at 701-746-5500 or anytime at www.empireartscenter.com.

Constellations features regional actors Nicque Robinson and Nick McConnell.  The production is directed by Darin Kerr and stage managed by Katy Bushaw.

The Empire Theatre Company is a program of the Empire Arts Center.  The Empire Theatre Company’s mission is to produce contemporary plays and musicals that are well-crafted and bold.  Constellations is the second production in ETC’s fifth season, which also includes the following productions: A Christmas Story The Musical, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Blackbird.
