Satirical comedy They Don’t Pay? We Won’t Pay! opened the UND Theatre season, and will have a final performance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Burtness Laboratory Theatre. It was rescheduled due to illness

What’s life without a little birdseed soup? Or rabbit heads with a squirt of lemon, for that matter? Described by the PortlandStage Theatre of Maine as part commedia dell’arte and part Honeymooners, Italian playwright Dario Fo has created a modern tale that transcends both country and time period. It is a story of two couples fighting to make ends meet, and who will go to hilarious extremes to get them to meet – no matter who they may run up against. They Don’t Pay? We Won’t Pay! will make you laugh and think.

Performed by the students of UND’s Theatre Arts Department, the play is  the directorial debut of Ljubisa Matic, Theatre Arts instructor. Please join us.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students; call the box office at 701.777.2587. hours are 3-6 p.m. weekdays and 3 to 7:30 p.m. on performance days. This show is general admission, so theatre patrons are encouraged to call in their reservation and arrive early to get their best seat.
