Benoit conducts educational tour to Quebec City July 21-Aug. 4

Virgil Benoit, professor of French and Canadian Studies, will conduct a two-week educational tour to Quebec City July 21-Aug. 4.

The 2017 French-Canadian heritage tour to Quebec City brings to the attention of every traveler on board the natural beauty of the Great Lakes, the Canadian Shield, the Ottawa Valley, the Saint Lawrence Seaway, and the Laurentian and Appalachian countryside of Quebec. And, along this array of landscapes, lie cities where “Friends of the Tour” await our arrival in such cities as Marquette, Michigan, Sudbury, Ontario, Ottawa (the Canadian Capital), Montreal, Trois-Rivieres, Quebec City and its surrounding historic not-to-miss spots including Saint-Anne-de-Beau Pré, Ile d’Orléans, the Huron Village and other communities for sightseeing and community gatherings created especially for this group of UND travelers.

At every turn of the way, so to speak, local hosts are present to accompany the group and provide for the much envied one-on-one encounters every traveler hopes for. This is a unique educational tour that will satisfy the traveler’s inner curiosity to reach out and understand the world. As such, this tour provides its travelers the opportunity to connect with North American places and the fascinating culture of Quebec, all awaiting to come alive from where they have existed, perhaps, only as “hearsay” until this tour.
