North Dakota Small Business Development Centers amends name, introduces new logo

nd-sbdc-2016-hi-resThe North Dakota Small Business Development Centers (ND SBDC) is a partnership between the federal government (U.S. Small Business Administration), State of North Dakota (Commerce Department) and North Dakota University System (University of North Dakota) that provides training and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses across North Dakota.  An outreach program of UND and the College of Business and Public Administration, ND SBDC’s Lead Center (State Office) is located in 140 Gamble Hall.

To better exemplify ND SBDC’s purpose, nature and multiple service center locations across the state and its commitment to serve our entire state, ND SBDC changed the word Center in its name to Centers and created a new logo that includes an outline of the state.  As the state’s collaborative small business development resource, ND SBDC’s mission is helping North Dakotans to start, manage and grow their businesses by providing free business advising services to entrepreneurs and small businesses in North Dakota.

Funding for the program comes from federal, state, university and local sources.  During the past two state biennia, ND SBDC served 3,381 unique individual clients and provided them with 30,278 hours of free consultation assistance.  This helped lead to creation of 472 new businesses in the state, creation or retention of 3,469 jobs and capital formation or infusion of $ 370,718,121.  More information about this statewide program is available at www.ndsbdc.org.
