June 22: Reception honors Doug Olsen

There will be a cake reception honoring Doug Olsen on Thursday, June 22, from 2-4 p.m. in Robin Hall Room 404.

Doug Olsen joined the Center for People & the Environment as Associate Director and Co-investigator, and the Department of Earth System Science and Policy as Research Faculty, starting in March 1997.  Doug was responsible for a range of research and public service activities in support of the Department of ESSP, and its predecessor research organization, the Upper Midwest Aerospace Consortium (UMAC).  During all those years, as part of the Center for People and the Environment and the ESSP team, Doug mentored numerous students in and outside ESSP.  He had an oversight role that included directing technical staff in their activities in the Geo-spatial Laboratory, which included sensor flight operations, image processing and analysis, end-user training outreach, and website development.  He will be missed here at Aerospace.

All are invited to come wish him well.
