Karlene Clark granted conference scholarship

Karlene Clark, Coordinator of Circulation Services & Student Employees at the Chester Fritz Library, was awarded one of two Support Staff Travel Scholarships to attend the annual Access Services Conference in Atlanta.

Requiring a letter from herself and from Dean Stephanie Walker, Karlene was told that her application “rose to the top” due to what the Dean noted as a dedication to stellar service with a superb work ethic. This conference is a two-day event in November, focused on the front-line employees in libraries and how to improve services to the library, innovative ways to work with budgets and programs, as well as sessions on leadership, team building, and ways to improve student employee services.

She was granted $1,000 for travel and $300 to cover the registration fees.
