New Essential Studies diversity requirements take effect Fall 2019

After adopting criteria for two new course categories to replace the current US and Global Diversity courses, the Essential Studies Committee — at its September 8 meeting — has set Fall 2019 as the term when the new requirements will take effect.

The new course categories are named The Diversity of Human Experience (DHE) and Analyzing Worldview (AW).  This change represents the culmination of a multi-year effort by the ES Committee to gather evidence on student learning related to issues of diversity, use it to assess the effectiveness of the current program’s requirements, and study and develop a plan to further enhance the undergraduate education all UND students receive.
