Nov. 1, 2: North Dakota Supreme Court to hear arguments at Law School
The UND community is invited to attend the North Dakota Supreme Court visit to the UND School of Law to hear four actual cases and judge the internal fall Moot Court student competition final argument. All five oral arguments will be held Nov. 1-2 in the Baker Courtroom on the third floor of the UND School of Law.
The Supreme Court visit to the law school provides a unique opportunity for the members of the law school community, UND campus and surrounding area to see the state’s highest court in session. In addition to hearing actual cases, UND Law students have the distinct privilege of having the Supreme Court judge the final argument of the internal fall Moot Court competition. The Justices will also lecture in law school classes and connect with law students, faculty, and the community through other special sessions.
“The Supreme Court’s visit is an unparalleled learning opportunity for our students—they will get to see the Court conduct hearings in real cases, argued by real attorneys right here at the law school, and then have multiple chances to interact with the Justices inside and outside of their classes. We are very grateful that the Court is willing to invest its time and resources to visit the School of Law,” said Dean Kathryn Rand.
