Nov. 7: Olafson Ethics Symposium features NPR’s Mara Liasson

The College of Business & Public Administration will host the 2017 Olafson Ethics Symposium on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom. This event is designed to engage students, alumni, and local business leaders in conversations regarding ethical decision making.

Keynote speaker Mara Liasson is the national political correspondent for National Public Radio. Her reports can be heard regularly on NPR’s award-winning newsmagazines All Things Considered and Morning Edition. Liasson provides extensive coverage of politics and policy from Washington, D.C. — focusing on the White House and Congress — and also reports on political trends beyond the Beltway.

Her keynote presentation, “A View from Washington,” will highlight the ethics and social responsibility in news. The symposium is free of charge and open to the general public.

A dessert reception will follow the keynote presentation.

This annual event is funded through the support of UND alum Robert Olafson in support of his dedication to ethical business practices and the University of North Dakota, as well as sponsorship from SEI.
