Research posters due Jan. 10 for N.D. Demographics Conference in Fargo

The 2018 North Dakota Demographics Conference will be held March 20 in Fargo.

New this year will be a poster session. Interested researchers are invited to submit proposals for a research poster detailing recent and ongoing research in demographics with special attention to research related to North Dakota. We welcome a variety of research fields.

Poster topics should showcase work relevant to the conference, including but not limited to population characteristics; the use of socio-economic and demographic data; data collection and use related to economy, health, education, housing, workforce, etc.; and use of tools that facilitate data access and use. Posters will be selected on a competitive basis with an expectation that those presenting posters will be attending the conference. We strongly encourage students to submit posters detailing their work.

Proposals should include:

  • Contact and author information
Author(s): Full name, Affiliation (Organization), Role (student/faculty/other).
Contact person: Full name, Affiliation (Organization), email address, and phone number.
  • Proposal description: Proposal title, an abstract of maximum 250 words that details the content of the poster, and one additional paragraph that describes how the poster theme relates and adds knowledge to North Dakota’s demographics.
Submissions are due Jan. 10. Send submissions electronically to david.flynn@und.edu. Notification of acceptance will be sent on Feb. 1. More details will be sent upon acceptance of poster. Please note, for the accepted posters, at least one author must be present at the conference. All poster presenters must register and pay for the conference. The conference offers a discounted student fee.
