Research North Dakota proposal deadline is May 18; please use updated application form

The Division of Research & Economic Development is pleased to announce to research faculty that the North Dakota Department of Commerce Research North Dakota (RND) program has funding remaining (approximately $900K) and is again accepting applications for regular Research ND projects ($300K ceiling) and Phase II Venture Grants ($100K ceiling).  Due to the limited funds that are available, no Phase I Venture Grants will be considered.

The next deadline for proposal submission is February 16, 2018.  There will be a subsequent proposal deadline of May 18, 2018.  Keep in mind that early proposal submission dates are recommended as the funding remaining in the program is limited and later deadlines for proposal submission will only be used if sufficient funding remains.  Also, ND Commerce has amended the proposal application, so please be sure to use the template on the Commerce website.  The new version was placed there on January 2, 2018.

Applicants are also reminded that they must have a binding agreement concerning the disposition of intellectual property that may be created or used in the project with their private sector partner BEFORE the application is submitted.  The Corporate Engagement and Commercialization office has the template agreement for such use.   Please contact Michael Moore, Associate Vice President, CE&C at 777.6709 or michael.f.moore@und.edu for further questions.  Further information may also be obtained from the North Dakota Dept. of Commerce RND website: http://www.commerce.nd.gov/research/Programs/
