April 19: Thomas R. Hoye presents Chemistry’s Abbott Lectures

This year’s Chemistry Department Abbott Lectures will be given by Dr. Thomas R. Hoye, Department of Chemistry, University of Minnesota. Dr. Hoye will give two lectures: the first presentation, titled Some Teaching Moments in (and Lessons Learned from) the Research Laboratory”will be given on Thursday April 19, at 7:00 PM in Abbott Hall 101. This presentation is intended for a scientifically interested general audience. A reception will follow in Abbott Hall 232. Dr. Hoye will also be presenting a research talk, titled “The (ongoing) evolution of the hexadehydro-Diels-Alder (HDDA) reaction” at noon on Friday, April 20, in Abbott Hall 138.  All are welcome to both lectures.
