Finalist for Center for Innovation director position visits UND campus March 19

Amy Whitney, associate director of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program at Clark University in Worcester, Mass., will visit the UND campus March 19 to interview for the position of director of the Center for Innovation.

An open forum is set for noon Monday, March 19, in the Idea Lab at the Center for Innovation, Ina Mae Rude Entrepreneur Center. All are welcome.

Whitney was one of six candidates interviewed for the position and is the only candidate to be invited for on-campus interviews.

She has been with the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program at Clark University for seven years. She has worked with curriculum development, hiring adjunct faculty, strategic planning, student mentorship and collaboration with the community, alumni and university.

Before joining Clark, Whitney served as an adjunct faculty member teaching management courses online at the Community College of Vermont in Montpelier from 2002 to 2016. Before that, she served as state program coordinator for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) program in Boston and Texas from 2002 to 2009, and as executive director for the MADD Greater Boston Chapter from 1998 to 2002.

Whitney earned her bachelor’s degree in American government and MBA from Clark, and expects to earn her doctorate in educational leadership this year from Northeastern University in Boston.
