March 19 retirement reception honors Brian Faison

A retirement reception for Brian Faison, Athletics Director, is set for 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, March 19, at the Gorecki Alumni Center. All are welcome.

Brian Faison began his duties as UND Athletics Director in May 2008 and guided UND Athletics through a NCAA Division I reclassification from which the athletics department has emerged as strong as ever. His decade-long tenure culminated with UND with the 2017 Big Sky Conference President’s Cup and with being named 2017 National FCS Athletics Director of the Year. During his tenure, UND won the 2016 NCAA DI men’s hockey national championship, 14 conference regular-season championships and an additional 13 conference tournament titles. Fundraising grew to new heights as well, highlighted by the opening of the UND Athletics High Performance Center in 2015, and UND’s student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom by achieving a collective GPA of 3.0 or higher during every semester of Faison’s tenure.
