May 3: UNDergraduate Research Conference

The UND Honors Program will present its 20th annual Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) on Thursday, May 3, in the UND Memorial Union. The conference—part of the university’s annual UNDergraduate Showcase—will be held from 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

At this year’s conference, 14 UND seniors will present the results of multi-semester independent research projects (Please note that all engineering students will present their research on April 30).  During their research, each student works closely with a faculty mentor who serves as chairperson of the resulting senior thesis. The senior thesis process is overseen by the Honors Committee, whose membership consists of faculty appointed by the University Senate and students elected by the Honors Program.

Come celebrate Undergraduate Research, a practice the American Association of Colleges & Universities identifies as a “high impact best practice” for undergraduate institutions.
