George Bibel’s talk televised on C-Span Book TV

C-Span Book TV televised George Bibel’s talk on May 28 (posted online here https://www.c-span.org/video/?444934-1/plane-crash ) at Johns Hopkins University.

Bibel, a mechanical engineering professor, lectured on his third book “Plane Crash: The Forensics of Aviation Disasters.”  The book, published by Johns Hopkins University Press, was co-authored with Captain Robert Hedges, a certified Boeing/Airbus pilot.  The talk, part of the AIAA Distinguished Lecture Series, was sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.  Bibel gave a second sponsored talk at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHUAPL) Colloquium.  JHUAPL is a major R&D lab with over 6,000 people supporting the Department of Defense, NASA and other government agencies.  The Colloquium’s stated goal is to bring scholars, innovators and industry leaders to inform and educate laboratory staff.

Additionally Bibel, and R. Hanman, an MIT aeronautics professor, were interviewed by the Boston Globe on May 17 about airplane window accidents.  https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2018/05/17/extremely-rare-get-sucked-out-airplane-window-but-here-how-would-work/pWPsrgZnkVfNGY1fPHA1hO/story.html
