Ronald Joseph Bruski, 77, retired steam plant staff member, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, with his family by his side.

Ron was born on July 13, 1941 in Grafton, N.D., to the late John and Lila (Currie) Bruski. He was raised in Grand Forks until age 9 when the family moved to his Uncle John’s farm after his father passed. He attended Oakwood Catholic School outside of Grafton and then drove truck for his brother’s trucking company. He then moved to Grand Forks and worked for UND for 27 years in the steam plant but took a month off every year during harvest so he could drive truck.

He married Judith Riely on Aug. 12, 1980, at United Lutheran in Grand Forks.

After his retirement from UND he drove truck for Trans Systems and Pro Transport in Grand Forks and enjoyed watching TV, camping, and being with his faithful companion, Butch the pug.

Ron is survived by his wife of 37 years, Judith Bruski of Grand Forks; sons, Daniel (Judy) DelValle of East Grand Forks, MN; Jeffrey (Geraldine) Bruski of Red Lake Falls, MN; and Ronald Joseph Bruski, Jr. of Thief River Falls, MN; daughters, Linda (Michael) Frederickson of Santa Clarita, CA; Peggy Sue Bruski of Grand Forks, ND; Marie (James) Riley of Reynolds, ND; Angela (Bradford) Griffeth of Colorado Springs, CO; Tanya “Missy” (Tony) Leaf of Turtle Lake, MN; and Melanie (Michael) Speck of Charleston, SC; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lila Bruski; brother, Leonard Bruski; and loyal dog, Butch.
