Oct. 1: Music robotics workshop

UND Music will hold a Music Robotics workshop on Monday, Oct. 1, from noon to 3 p.m.

The workshop presenter, Troy Rogers, will work with participants to build a programmable musical robot. Robots can be programmed, but play Steve Reich’s “Clapping Music” by default. The first six students to register get to build a robot free of charge but the robot will be property of UND Music. Others, including non-students, can build and take their robot home for $130.

Then on Monday evening, Mr. Rogers will perform a concert using his musical robots.  The concert is open to the public. Cost is $7 per adult; $3 per student/senior. Military personnel are free. Both events will be held at the UND Hughes Fine Arts Center.
