Sept 23: Grand Forks Symphony presents Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’

symphony110thyearThe Greater Grand Forks Symphony will begin their 110th season with their first concert, “The Four Seasons by Vivaldi,” at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Empire Arts Center.

Free admission to the pre-concert music story telling with Maestro Alejandro Drago begins at 1:30 p.m.  Guests are invited to a birthday celebration following the concert which will feature a silent auction of birthday cakes baked by local celebrities such as Mayor Mike Brown, Mayor Steve Gander, the Lamoureaux Twins, Terry Dullum, Dennis Narlock, Brad Sherwood, and a UND cake.

Providing concerts to the Greater Grand Forks area for 110 years, the Symphony community will embark on a yearlong journey through dazzling symphonic sounds from around the world.  Alejandro Drago, artistic director of The Symphony and associate professor of music at UND, is directing his third season with a total of four concerts plus three more concerts featuring chamber music, music for brass, and a concert for young audiences.
